              April 13th Letter (Spanish Version)

              April 13, 1分11选5平台

              Dear St. Louis Families,

Good afternoon.  St. Louis Public Schools has been working with staff in order to create our distance learning plan for students.  Our plan will be implemented beginning next week. During the week of April 20th a learning packet will be mailed to every single student.  Within the packet students will receive the following:

              • Learning expectations from grade level and/or classroom teachers
              • First round of academic learning packets
              • Communication plan for parents and students to be able to receive support and guidance from his/her teacher.
              • 3rd marking period report cards

At this time, we are not returning student’s personal items until after the Stay 1分11选5平台, Stay Safe Executive Order has expired, which is currently April 30, 1分11选5平台.   We will continue to follow the CDC recommended mitigation strategies for the health and safety of all of our staff.  We are making arrangements for ONLY high 1分11选5平台 students to request essential academic items required for distance learning.    We will have a plan to return non-essential personal items in May.

The following are deemed essential and will be the only items returned during this time:

              • Student medication and medical supplies – Our 1分11选5平台 nurse will handle all collection and hand off of medication and medical supplies. Please email Rachael Otto - (rotto@1分11选5平台)
              • St. Louis High School student’s essential 1分11选5平台 supplies that are required for distance learning capabilities, such textbooks. Please email Eric Huff - Ehuff@1分11选5平台
                • Items must be essential and requested prior to Thursday, April 15th at 12:00 p.m.
                • Item pick up will be in the high 1分11选5平台 student parking lot on April 21st (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

St. Louis Public Schools have devices reserved for students who indicated on the student internet survey that they have access to the internet, but lack a device.  We will check out a device to a student if a device is needed for their specific grade level.  Your building principal or teacher will communicate a pick up time to check out a device.   In the event a family lacks accessibility to the internet, all distance learning materials will be equitably provided in a paper learning packet.

We will continue to follow the 1分11选5平台-2021 district calendar, in which the last day of 1分11选5平台 will be June 4, 1分11选5平台. Food delivery and pick-up sites will remain the same Monday through Friday.

We are working on a plan for graduation and recognizing our seniors.  As soon as a plan is in place we will communicate with seniors and families.

Please expect more communication in the coming days.  We appreciate your support during this time.  We miss our students, and our staff is doing everything they can in order to support them.  Please take care!

              Sincerely,

              Jennifer McKittrick

Anatomy and Physiology students successfully hosted two blood drives this year through Michigan Blood and collected 180 pints of blood from staff, students and community members.  The students worked hard to recruit donors, get food donations from local businesses and organized all aspects of the day. Little Free Library

              Take a Book ~ Share a Book

Class book library project You may have noticed a new addition outside of Carrie Knause! We now have our own little free library! One of our 2nd graders in Mrs. Jenkin's class thought this would be a great addition to our 1分11选5平台. Her and her classmates then pursued a grant through the Youth Advisory Council with the Gratiot Community Foundation to secure the funds for this project! Please feel free to grab a book when your child needs something to read or swap us books after your child has finished reading one of their books!
